Accountant

At Ishtar Women’s Resource Society, every role contributes to supporting women, children, and families in building safer, more stable futures. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Accountant to join our team and help ensure the financial strength and accountability that supports our programs and services.

The Accountant oversees day-to-day accounting operations and helps maintain accurate financial reporting in accordance with funder requirements and organizational policies, and will be responsible for payroll too. This role supervises the Accounting Clerk, prepares financial statements, supports budgeting and audit processes, and provides financial analysis and guidance to leadership.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to supporting the important work of a community-based non-profit organization. Through strong financial stewardship, the Accountant plays a meaningful role in helping Ishtar continue providing essential support and services to our community.

Housing Manager (Non-Union)

Are you passionate about leading programs that support safety, stability, and dignity for women and children? We’re seeking a Housing Manager to join our team in a non-union leadership role.

In this position, you will oversee Ishtar’s Housing Programs, including Ishtar Transition House, Libra Transition House, and New Roots Second-Stage Housing Program, which opened in January 2026. Funded by BC Housing, these programs provide safe, supportive housing for women and their children affected by domestic violence.

The Housing Manager is a union-exempt position responsible for leading a team of approximately 6-8 unionized (BCGEU) housing staff, as well as coordinating with external contractors. You will guide program development and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures across all housing operations and client supports. This includes ensuring best practices, health and safety standards, and compliance with funder requirements.

Adult, Child & Youth Worker

Ishtar Women’s Resource Society is inviting applications for the role of Full-Time Adult, Child & Youth Worker. Reporting to the Second-Stage Housing Manager, the Adult, Child & Youth Worker supports children and youth by identifying their needs and potential risks, and developing short-term, goal-focused intervention plans within program guidelines. The role includes planning and facilitating individual and group activities using foundational counselling approaches, and supporting skill development in key areas. The worker also provides child minding at the House while caregivers attend counselling sessions or support meetings.

Women’s Support Worker

Clinical Practicum

The Stopping The Violence Women’s Counselling Program welcomes students completing a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Clinical Social Work for clinical practicum.
